MARY ARLENE OSBORN, Caro

Mary Arlene Osborn of Caro, age 76, passed away on Saturday, September 27, 2014 at St. Mary’s of Michigan in Saginaw, following a lingering illness.  Arlene was born on February 6, 1938 in Ruth, the daughter of the late Loris and Leona (Richards) Mixter. She was a graduate of St. Peter and Paul High School in Ruth, and moved to Caro to take a job at the Hotel Montague. On October 27, 1956 she was united in marriage with Arthur Osborn, and he preceded her in death on November 12, 1989.  With the exception of a short period of time at the Caro Regional Center, she worked in many restaurants in the area.  Arlene was a faithful member of St. Christopher Parish in Caro and a longtime member of the Caro V.F.W. Auxiliary Post #4164.  She enjoyed bingo, going to casinos, and garage sale shopping.  She is survived by three children, Janice Reed of Caro, Timothy Osborn of Caro, Allen Osborn of Manassas, Virginia; four grandchildren, James and Angel Burnham of Tawas, William Burnham of Coldwater, Tom Burnham and Jody Garbacz of Caro, and Amanda Osborn of Caro; several great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson, Ryan; two brothers, Gregory and Delores Mixter of Bad Axe, Jerome and Viola Mixter of Ruth; and many nieces and nephews.  In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Jeff Burnham; and a son-in-law, Louis (Duke) Reed.  Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 30, 2014 at St. Christopher Parish, Sacred Heart Campus in Caro with Rev. Dennis Kucharczyk officiating. Burial will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Caro. The family will receive friends at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro on Monday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and at the church on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorial contributions to the Arlene Osborn Family Discretionary Fund, c/o Janice Reed, 205 W.
