Janet H. Auernhamer, Richville

Janet H. Auernhamer, 81, of Richville, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Tuesday evening, June 30, 2015 at Wellspring Lutheran Home in Frankenmuth. She was born November 28, 1933 in Highland Park, daughter of the late James A. and Thelma (McNiven) Wilson. Janet was a graduate of Vassar High School. She was employed in food preparations at the Bavarian Inn in Frankenmuth for over thirty years. She was a member of the St. Michael’s Lutheran Church in Richville where she was involved in many church activities including singing in the church choir for over fifty years, teaching Sunday school, and was actively involved with the St. Michael’s Church Ladies Aid and the Alter Guild. Janet was also a member of the Richville Band and enjoyed gardening, reading, and especially helping others in her community with her baking and cooking talents. Surviving are her children and their spouses, Roger E. and Patty Auernhamer of Longmont, CO; Bradley W. and Ann Auernhamer of Vassar; Audrey J. and Arlis VanDeVeer of Vassar; Ann E. Basnight and her good friend, Bryan Ellingsworth of Carlisle, PA; and Phyllis G. and Greg Squanda of Saginaw; ten grandchildren, Katlyn and Kyler Auernhamer, Robin and Sally VanDeVeer, Neeah Basnight, Harry Basnight and his wife Kelly, Megan and Aaron Squanda, and Kara and Kyle Auernhamer; three great-grandchildren, Serenity, Armani and Parker. Also surviving is her brother, Jim Wilson and his wife Donna of Vassar; her sister, Margo Miller of Owendale; sisters-in-law; Nancy Auernhamer-Kloph and Lorna Kern, both of Vassar; Mildred Auernhamer and her husband Ruben of Frankenmuth; and her brother-in-law, Howard Auernhamer and his wife Edith of Vassar. Funeral Services for Janet will take place at 11 a.m. Monday, July 6, 2015 from the St. Michael’s Lutheran Church in Richville. Rev. Wesley Gillaspie and Rev. Rob Gadeken will both officiate with cremation to follow. Her cremains will be interred later in the St. Michael’s Cemetery. Friends may call at the Ware-Smith-Woolever Funeral Home, 9940 Saginaw St. in Reese on Sunday from 4-7 p.m. and at the church on Monday from 10 a.m. until the service. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider the St. Michael’s Lutheran Church, St. Michael’s School or the Alzheimer’s Association.
